Moving out and the agent has asked for a pest treatment? We time it to your vacate, treat what the lease actually needs, and give you a written certificate to hand in with the keys.
The straight answer
Whether you need end of lease pest control depends on your lease and whether pets were kept at the property. Read your tenancy agreement first, and if you're unsure what applies, check with the Residential Tenancies Authority (rta.qld.gov.au). We can't give legal advice, but we can do the treatment properly and provide the paperwork an agent expects.
What's included

Timing it right
- Book the treatment after the furniture is out and before the final carpet clean, unless your agent has told you otherwise.
- Vacuum thoroughly before we arrive and leave the property empty of pets.
- Allow time for treated surfaces to dry before the final inspection.
What it costs
General pest treatment starts from $300 including GST for a standard home. Flea treatments are priced on the size of the property and whether the yard is included, confirmed in writing before we start. Property managers can book directly; see property managers.
Frequently asked
Do I have to get pest control when I move out in Queensland?
It depends on your tenancy agreement and whether pets were kept. Check your lease and the Residential Tenancies Authority (rta.qld.gov.au). If a treatment is required, we provide a written certificate for the agent.
Will the agent accept your certificate?
Our certificate names the property, the date, the treatment and the products used, and carries our QBCC and pest management licence numbers. If your agent needs particular wording, send it to us before the job.
Can you do it on the day I hand back the keys?
Often, if the property is empty and we have access. Book early in the week of your vacate so there is time for surfaces to dry before the final inspection.
Do you also clean carpets?
No. We do the pest treatment. Book the carpet clean after the treatment, unless the agent tells you otherwise.
